Advancing Beef Leaders
Group Projects
A key objective of the Advancing Beef Leaders Program is to motivate participants to apply their learning and develop their skills through a continual learning cycle over the course’s duration.
At a practical level, participants are grouped according to the outcomes of their DiSC profile - an acronym standing for (D)ominance, (i)nfluence, (S)teadiness, and (C)onscientiousness. This profile is an analysis of their personalities, needs, preferred environments, and priorities. The participants, in groups of 5 or 6 spread across the regions, then work together on a group project.
The group project is primarily about the importance of good group governance and process.
This provides participants with an opportunity to:
work together in a group setting, overcoming distance and regular life distractions
practice the skills learned in ABL modules, and
work collaboratively on a project that will benefit the local community or beef industry.
