Believe in Beef

Southern group ‘Confidence Campaign Committee’ aimed to produce a three-minute short film representing ‘a day in the life of an Australian beef producer.’ In doing so, they involved six high school students who may otherwise never gain any real life exposure or experience in the beef industry, and in doing so, wanted to promote the beef industry’s commitment to sustainability and animal welfare through detailed imagery and genuine expression. 

Six high school students, aged 11 to 16, recently participated in a 24-hour cattle property immersion near Roma, at Freeman Pastoral Company's Melleebee Downs in Wallumbilla.

There, students undertook cattle mustering, stock handling, fencing, and other farm activities to build capacity and skills development, preparing the next generation for roles in beef production and its supply chain.

To extend the impact beyond the participants, a short film documenting the experience was produced, targeting a broader audience to showcase the realities and opportunities within the beef industry.

The project not only aimed to educate about beef production but also emphasised inclusivity, encouraging young people from diverse backgrounds to explore the industry's varied roles.
