John A Taylor

John A Taylor has worked in Australia’s rangelands for over 40 years, in roles ranging from pasture researcher to Chief of Division in CSIRO, and most recently as the endowed Chair in Rangeland Management at UQ. In this role he has won national and international awards for educational programs that enhance remote learning.

He has been a Director of the Desert Knowledge Cooperative Research Centre, Primary Industries Education Foundation Australia (PIEFA) and Southern Gulf NRM Ltd; Chair of the DAFF(Q) Industry Skills Advisory Group and President of the Australian Rangeland Society (ARS).

John is semi-retired, and is currently the Chair of the North Australia Beef Research Council and a Director of the international Society for Range Management.
