Brigid Price

I work alongside my family (husband Owen, Children Rob 19, Maddy 18 and Isabel 13) to produce grass-fed and certified organic beef. With 7000 head of cattle and 70,000 acres of land under our stewardship we operate a values-based business that incorporates data-driven decision making and a best practice approach to beef production, with a focus on efficiencies and maximising market access opportunities.

I have been fortunate to participate in the NFF’s Diversity in Agriculture Leadership program and the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation’s 18 month leadership program. I have a background in government finance and administration, community advocacy and am currently on an NRM board.

A few years ago I put together an online resource www.ruralresouces.com.au for farming families to share the resources we use in our business. As a mother of future farmers, however, my priority is our family business and working to ensure Christmas is a celebration and not an obligation in future years and that succession is a transition we are all proactively working towards.

Time in the garden is my attempt at meditation. I think curiosity is underrated and I am working on trying to do less to achieve more.
